Quality order validation when two batches of one PO line were received

Hi everyone,

I am having a problem with the quality order validation. The scenario is the following:

1. I create a PO with a single line - Item01, quantity 10 pcs.

2. I receive the quantity at a location as follows:

- Item01 - Batch01 - 5pcs.

- Item01 - Batch02 - 5pcs.

Upon the quantity registration both lines receive inventory status "ForQC".

3. Two quality orders are automatically created for each batch.

4. When I try to validate the Quality order for Batch01 I receive an error which refers to the quantity in Batch02.

And when I go to Validate ->Select I see that for both quality orders the there is a reference to both batches. Thus returning an error for the reserved quantity for the quality sample for the other quality order.

Some of the initial settings are:

1. Item sampling is for a fixed quantity

2. The item sampling settings are

- per updated quantity

- per warehouse and inventory status

- per batch number

3. Quality orders are automatically generated upon item registration.

4. There are no destructive tests

Most probably at this setup the validation refers to the same Lot ID.

Has anyone encountered this issue?

Is there a way to go around it.

when quality association and sampling suggest tracking by warehouse and batch then it does allow to create two quality orders linked to individual batches

could try creating two line PO and receiving one bath per line and check and use the result to then do a single line PO and suggest

Hi Raul,

When I receive the two batches using the mobile device, two separate quality orders are created. But it doesn't allow me to validate them. Because during the validation process it checks the on-hand of the second batch. And it runs into the issue that 1 pc of the item is reserved for the second quality order. And vice versa.

Hi Simeon Ivanov,

What version are you using? Could you show me the screenshot about the error message?

In my test, it works fine when validate the quailty order. Did you try to add two PO lines as Rahul suggested above?

Hi Qian,

Are you using registration in the quality association?

Can you please share your settings on:

- Item sampling

- Quality association

- Test group general setup

- Location directives

Because the issue can be in one of them.

Regarding the creation of two PO lines - it will work because you will two different Lot IDs to which the two quality orders will refer to.

But in real life it doesn't work.

The main reason for the conflict in my setup is when I turn on Batch tracking in the item sampling.

I am attaching a screenshot. When you try to validate Batch CO013, it checks also the available quantity in batcg CO014.

Just to update you. I managed to make the process work when the process is license plate controlled:

- license plate controlled location

- license plate controlled item sampling

Then both the validation and the inventory status are updated.

But when I try to do the test for a location which isn't license plate controlled the validation won't update the inventory status.

So it's kind of catch 22 at this point.

Hi Qian,

The difference between your settings and mine is that I don't update the batch disposition. Instead I update the inventory status.

Do you think this may be the issue?

No, it is not the cause. Do the item have any other transactions? Are you using the same item or a new item in the license plate control test?

Hi Qian,

The location i am using isn't license plate controlled. The item is tracked only per batch.

The process is the following.

1. PO is created for one item in one line.

2. Half of the quantity is registerred in one batch, half is registerred in another batch. Both batches of the item have an initial inventory status of "For QC"

3. Two seperate quality orders are created automatically.

The quality order validation has to update the the inventory to either OK or Blocked. Please see my settings.

Also, the current version of the environment is 10.0.5 (10.0.197.10011)
