How to Pull Daily Sales Summary

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Hello,

I 'm wondering how to pull a daily sales summary across all registers in one report?  I need to run it for our fiscal year 10/1/2016 - 9/30/17 so that my finance dept. can match it to their general ledger. When trying REPORTS>SALES>SUMMARY SALES (DAILY)>DAILY SALES BY REGISTER it tells me that the register number I've entered is an invalid query.

I want the report to tell me by each day across all registers what our total sales were.  This seems so simple but I can't find the solution.

Thank you!

Caitlin

RE: How to Pull Daily Sales Summary

    Hello Caitlin,

One way that I know this can be done and also can be set up to suit your accounting sysytem is through the post closed batches. Provided that each registered closed daily and Z report produced, information from each day's activities can be exported to file .txt then you can import to say MYOB.

On RMS manager > Journal > assign GL accounts, here choose the information to export, (if you intend to use text file you may not need to worry about account numbers).

Then use Journal > post closed batches, here deselect All and select the ones that interest you or use the date button. On the file name window next to it is a button, click and select your destination file. And post.

I email you a file so that you see what it looks like.

One word of warning! If you intened to set posting for accounting, use a dummy accounting file first to experiment and check that evrything is what should be.

    Cheers and Happy New Year

RE: How to Pull Daily Sales Summary

If you have been running a Z report at your registers to close each daily batch you can run the following report to summarize accounting figures for any date range.

Store Operations Manager, Utilities, Crystal Reports, Register Analysis.

Select Criteria tab, Field name = Date Closed, Operator = Between, Contents = 10-1-2016 & 9-30-2017 (or your country date format), Add, Generate.

You can then print or export the report data.

This is the same GL data shown on a Z report at a register.

This will be a lengthy report if run for a year period.

You can show batch figures by register if you enable Show Individual Batches under Additional Details tab.

RE: How to Pull Daily Sales Summary

The report your using will give you daily summary and I don't think is recorded. So you need to keep records daily. But don't enter any register number it will show all registers that have entries.

The only daily sales records would be in Batches where each register would have their separate batch.
If you need actual sales by date or don't have any Batches you would need to export the detailed sales report to something like Excel and work from there.
Bellow is a screen shot from another report from based on batch.
The report is on your way.
