Hi Joanne!,
yes, you can notify the approver by email if he/she have pending Request to Approve.
This is done in the Workflow Responses, by adding the following one:
"Send approval request for the record and create a notification."
once the approval request has been created with (for example):
"Create an approval request for the record using approver type <Approver> and approver limit type <Approver Chain>."
The Approver will receive an email with the information of the document that needs to be approved/rejected.
Be sure you have Notification Setup active of Type = Approval and Method = Email and set frequency, so the email can be sent:
This approver should have a valid Email setup under Approval User Setup.
And of course, SMTP Mail Setup should be valid as well, so the emails can be sent from your NAV.
