Will there be a email send to approver when we set up a workflow?

In NAV 2018 version, will the workflow set up able to send a email to notify the approver via Office 365 rather than they have to login to NAV 2018 then able to know there are pending approval?

Hi Joanne!,

yes, you can notify the approver by email if he/she have pending Request to Approve.

This is done in the Workflow Responses, by adding the following one:

"Send approval request for the record and create a notification."

once the approval request has been created with (for example):

"Create an approval request for the record using approver type <Approver> and approver limit type <Approver Chain>."

The Approver will receive an email with the information of the document that needs to be approved/rejected.

Be sure you have Notification Setup active of Type = Approval and Method = Email and set frequency, so the email can be sent:

This approver should have a valid Email setup under Approval User Setup.

And of course, SMTP Mail Setup should be valid as well, so the emails can be sent from your NAV.
