Account relationship or connections

I have to implement a relationship between various accounts which is not parental but of  varing types . Should I just use out of the box connections or should I create an intersecting entity which connects  one account to another and then specify what type the relationsip it is. This relationship information has to be passed to another system so I’m just wanting to know what would be he best way to go about it. Just trying to keep it simple since the other system is non CRM and connections may be a little over the top?

Thanks G

    Hi,

I'm pretty sure it would work either way. Although, intersects seem to be more intuitive/familiar to the users.

     This may help:

Thanks for this information. Anyone else vote for connections over intersecting table

I think it depends on the nature of the relationship between the accounts and how granular you want to define that.

If you want to have something generic that just says 'They're Associated', an N:N would be easiest. On the other hand, if you want to define how they're associated (competitor, partner, in the same building or whatever), a Connection would be best because you can define custom roles between the records.

Hope this helps! I'd appreciate if you'd mark this as Answering your question.

    Thanks,

     Aiden
