Finding Fixed Allocation in tables or view

Posted on by 3,015

I need these two circled (fixed allocation account AND distribution account) from the SQL database in order to create a needed report. However, I can only find the distribution account (it is titled account from what I can find).

Can anyone help me in identifying where I can find these? Even the names of the SQL table would be helpful.

I am using GP 2010, Report builder 2.0.

RE: Finding Fixed Allocation in tables or view

We need to be able to see the cash side of our applied payments. We would like to know what segments these are being applied to, along with the document number.

The majority of my question has been answered here: community.dynamics.com/.../227648.aspx

The fixed allocation account is not stored with transactions, so this is not possible.

Maybe you can explain why this is needed? What you are looking to accomplish with this report? Sometimes understanding the business need can help someone suggest a different way of either reporting or entering these transactions.

It is relevant because we need to trace it back to the fixed allocation as well. This is what we need basically in a table format....

Fixed allocation account Distribution account Percentage Customer Name Document number Applied amount

I don't know if I am making any sense. Still trying to figure out how all of this works.

Then the fixed allocation account should be irrelevant....the accounts recorded with the transaction will be the distribution accounts. Is that not what your data shows?

Segment 4 of the Distribution Account or the Fixed Allocation Account?

Well when we enter in a payment, segment 4 of the distribution account represents a breakout that would be very useful to us. However, I can't seem to find a way to link it to the payments.

Allocation accounts are never posted to, they are like shortcuts that redirect to other accounts. So you are not going to find transactions that can be linked to allocation accounts. Maybe you could give some more detail or an example of what you are looking to do?

How would I go about joining customer payments with this?

Here is code for a SQL view that will show you all the active fixed allocation accounts:
