Saving Filters on Worksheet Pages in Business Central

Hi everyone,

I’m wondering if there is any way to save filters on a worksheet type page in Business Central, similar to how we can save views or filters on list pages.

On list pages, it’s easy to create and reuse custom filtered views, but I haven’t found an equivalent option on worksheet pages (such as Planning Worksheet, Item Journal, etc.).

Is this limitation by design, or is there a workaround, extension, or setup that allows saving filters for worksheet pages?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

    Hello,
This is by design: saved views/filters only work on list pages, not worksheet pages in Business Central. Microsoft explicitly says that if the Save View option is missing, one reason is that the page is a worksheet page, and views are only available on list pages. On worksheet pages, filters can still be used, but they’re basically remembered only for the current session, not as reusable saved views. So for pages like Planning Worksheet or Item Journal, there’s no standard setup switch to enable saved filters; the practical options are either to use an equivalent list page where possible, or build a custom extension that stores and reapplies filters manually.

That’s exactly what I suspected, but I wanted to double‑check in case there was any simple way to achieve it.

Thanks a lot for the clarification and for confirming how it works.

    Best regards.
