Change Location for Sales Order and Shipment After Work Order Processing

Hi:

Let's say that you have a Sales Order whose manufacturing order (i.e. work order) was successfully closed (i.e. its status was changed to "Finished").

How can you change the Location Code of that Sales Order to a different location and, therefore, conduct Warehouse Shipment from that new location?

Thanks!

John

I have the same question (0)

Which document was created first ?
I guess it was Sales Order.
So You create a Sales Order, then Production Order, and afterwards You want to change the location ?

I would say that this cannot be done, as based on business logic it wouldn't make sense. If You want to move the product from Production Site  to the warehouse which ships to this customer, You can transfer the items.

The reason it needs to be done is because some items on the Sales Order (which was created first) were transferred to the qc site and then to the shipping site.

So, the rest of the items from the Sales Order need to be moved to shipping.

I'm disappointed that you have to conduct a transfer.  I'm probably going to get grief over this.  Oh, well.

And, we have hundreds in quantity of an item with serial numbers and lot numbers.  "Select Item Tracking" will not let me select multiple records at once.  This is a nightmare.

As You wrote Your business process is to transfer the goods to other location after they are produced.
So the best way to achieve this in system, is doing exactly the same.
