Disabling Delete button on Notes Attachments

Hi,

Is it possible to disable the delete button in the attachments of a note while still giving the users the ability to edit the text field in it? In CRM Account or Lead form, there is a notes area. A sneaky rep can remove whatever he/she attached in the note and we want to avoid that from happening. The other challenge is we want to still give the users ability to edit the text field of that same note.

Based on the security, NOTE is one entity and it seems that any changes made to the NOTE entity applies to both the text field and attachment. Still I want to know if you have any workarounds.

We are using an on-premise Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015. DB 7.0.2.53

Thanks for your help.

    Hello Rinno,

The easiest you can do is use Real-Time workflow for validation - garethtuckercrm.com/.../crm-2013-new-features-using-real-time-workflow-for-validation-rules

Security is the best option, you can remove delete permission from note entity, which will disable delete button and allow to edit or insert new notes.

    Hi Andrii,

This is promising. I'll relay it to management. Thank you!

    Hi Mahadeo,

This will not work for us because we still want the users to have the ability to edit the Text Field part of the note where the attachment was inserted. We just don't want them to remove the already attached file. Locking it via security locks both the textfield and the attachment.
