In the Phone Calls entity's fields there is only one field called "Phone Number." I have a couple of questions....
1) Which phone number from the leads, accounts or contact is supposed to populate this field when you create a new call record?
2) What if someone asks you to call their mobile number on the next call instead of their main number? How do you get the call record to use the right phone number.
Right now when we create a call no number is being automatically populated into the Phone Number field in the phone call record. What is the default behavior supposed to be?
I have changed the labels on our telephone1, telephone2, and telephone3 fields in our leads, accounts and contacts entities to Phone 1, Phone 2 and Mobile Phone. Perhaps I've caused an issue, but I'd be very surprised if Dynamics was using the field label instead of the actual field name to determine what to automatically populate.

So if I'm reading this right there aren't any built-in functions to auto-populate a phone number in a call record when the call is added? With the base functionality is the user supposed to fill in everything in the call record manually? That's incredulous if that's the case.

You can write a custom script on-page-load handler to populate desired phone number from Parent records like Contact.
