I don't know any coding.
Could any one please help in a simple scenarios where they would use jquery in Dynamics CRM and why they would use jquery.

You can use make the most of jquery in html web resources.

It is not supported to use jQuery in CRM form but it is very common to use jQuery in HTML web resource.
