Customer balance on invoice

Posted on by 710

Our customers pay a 50% deposit and we send an invoice when the item ships. The problem is that the deposit amount paid does not appear on the invoice, so we have been mailing a statement with the invoice that shows the balance. How do we get the deposit amount paid to show up and calculate on the invoice so that we can avoid having to send a statement? We are using GP 10.0.

 Thank you.

     Hi EMS,

I've modified the report for you, creating the calculated field and adding them to the footer of the report. I can email you the reports.dic if you send me a message with your email address.

I'll send you some instructions with it on how to install it.

    Regards,

    James

    Hello James,

We are brand new to GP, so please bear with me. Can you provide directions on navigating to the SOP header work table?

    Thank you,

    EMS

    Hi EMS,

The deposit amount is available in the SOP header work table, you can can modify the invoice report to show this field.

You'll see on the report that the footer fields are all calculated fields, this is so the correct currency is selected when the invoice is being printed. To create your deposit amount field you should copy one those calculated fields, selecting deposit amount and originating deposit amount as your return values. You could then create a further calculated field to reflect the actual document amount less the deposit amount, i.e. 'F/O Document Amount' - 'F/O Deposit Amount'.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    James
