Suggested Answer

Is it possible to allocate received raw materials to production orders?

Hi All,

I will start with a short description of the situation. We process mushrooms into end products. We receive, for example, the following mushrooms:

Monday: Mushroom type A, supplier 1
Tuesday: Mushroom type B, supplier 2
Wednesday: Mushroom type B, supplier 3

Is it possible to allocate the received mushrooms to specific production orders?

For example, for production order 1, we want to use mushroom type B from supplier 3. Is it possible to reserve the received mushrooms and link them to the production order?

Normally, you would look at the material list, see that you need mushroom type B, then use the FIFO method and choose the mushrooms you received first. However, in some situations, we want to use mushrooms from another supplier, so this will not work for us.

    Hi

Yes its possible. Open the production order component lines click on the reserve action select the inward purchase order line to reserve against this production order.

when ever there is GRN posted for the Purchase order the stock will get reserved against the production order and that stock can not be used in other places until the reservation is cancelled

As mentioned below, you can reserve against both the incoming Purchase Order and/or the current inventory (Item Ledger Entries).  Just keep in mind the reservation is date sensitive, meaning if your Purchase Receipt date is beyond the need date of the component it will not show in your Reserve list.  This is not an issue with inventory, as the product is already in stock.

Thanks for the help! The only problem is that I can't find the 'prod. order components' botton in the 'released production order' field. Any idea why I can't find it?

    Hi Joel,

Requesting you to mark the answer as verified if that solve your problem.

Please see the line level (Subform level) actions on the Released production order

Thanks, so I reservated the article via 'released production order'. Can I see in the filed 'OC menu' which article is reservated for which production order?
