When doing the YE close in Financial, the system says there is a single use batch which i s not in an available state. It asks me if I want to 'continue' or 'cancel', I choose 'continue', the procedure hangs and I have to end the session.

I use one of your tools where when it runs it releases the batch to the desired state. I re-try the YE job and I get the same message. what can I do? When i re-try the tool for hung batches the second time it does not highlight any interrupted batches.

What should I do next, I need to close the financial year.

Can you recover and delete the batch? Sounds like that batch might be corrupt.

Try running check links on the financial series. Hopefully that batch will be recovered. Frank's advise is also correct. When you get it back, as long as it does not have any transactions for the year you are closing you should be good to go.

When the batch was verified and removed, the year end close was restarted and it was still seeing a 'single use batch' which was not posted.

We do have Financial single use batches in the GL which were not posted, there was one IVTRF batch where the status said 'receiving', this is what was recovered and removed. This is what I thought was being referred to.

Was it resolved, a restore was done, a backup was done before I started anything, therefore we are at the stage where the 'problem' batch is there. It was removed, a check links is going through, and I will put through the YE Close in a little while to see what happens.

This is not the first close I am part of, but I can'r remember if last year there were single use batches in Financial.

Hi,

The fact that you have an un posted single use batch should not cause problems with closing. I do it all of the time. Sometimes even for the year I'm closing.

It would appear the problem is more than the unposted batches. They were removed and when the YE close is attempted for Financial the procedure hangs.

We will try this again over the weekend where we will be able to see exactly what is happenning. But the Financial YE close has not been completed as yet.

I know we can keep it open for a short period.

The hanging of the system when the YE close is processing has not been resolved. We are receiving assistance from a Consultant who does our modifications.

He came in and observed what was happenning.
