Transaction import stopping with no errors

Posted on by 405

We have a transaction import which is regularly stopping and returning the user to the SL menu screen. The TI log file does not detail any errors, therefore we are not sure of the cause. This has started happening since we upgraded from SL7 to SL2015 CU2.

Has anyone else experienced this and identified the cause or at least enabled the TI log file to report the error it has encountered.

In case anyone else experiences this issue we have discovered that it appears to happen when transaction import can no longer read the import file (in our case the import files are on a mapped network drive and for whatever reason the mapped drive was no longer available).

It appears that when this occurs transaction import simply stops without writing and error (although that may also be because the log file is on the same mapped drive).

    Hi Bruce

You should try to generate new control file form SL 2105 CU2 it can solve your problem, we used to have the same issue and when we do that it run smoothly.

    Hi Mark,

We used the conversion utility to convert the CTL file during the upgrade.

The issue is odd in that it runs sometimes and stops on other occasions. Unfortunately when it stops the user is returned to the menu screen and no error is shown or written to the log file.

Did you create a new TI Control file after the upgrade, or are you still using the one from SL 7? Try creating a new TI CTL file, and see if that works.
