SaaS :: Hide Standard Reports from menu

ReportReport
Posted on by 429

Hi all,

We have a client (BC SaaS) for which a standard report is not good enough and needed to be customized - so we created a new report. Question is - now, is it possible to hide the standard report from the menu/search or that can only be done via permissions?

Thanks in advance!

Set the one required on the report selection page.

This then runs the required report

    1. Choose the pastedimage1595934001199v1.png icon, enter Report Layout Selection, and then choose the related link.
The Report Layout Selection page lists all the reports that are available for the company that is specified in the Company field at the top of the page. The Selected Layout field specifies the layout that is currently used on the report.
    2. Set the Company field at the top of the page to the company that includes the report.
    3. To change the layout that is used by a report, on the row for the report, set the Selected Layout field to one of the following options:
      • RDLC (built-in), uses the built-in RDLC report layout on the report.
      • Word (built-in), uses the built-in Word report layout on the report.
      • Custom, uses a custom layout on the report.

Hi, thanks for the above - this would work if the dataset was the same but in our case, we needed to extend the dataset too hence why we had to create a new one entirely. Any other suggestions, maybe?

    Thanks!

if you deploy the reports via an extension to the environment you should be able to select them using the report layout - sales (or the correct one from the list depending on the report).

You will then be able to select the report to change and select the new report ID to use in the system

You don't need  to, instead you can substitute (replace) the old report with the new one, using an event:

Use ReportManagement codeunit to substitute the report when the user runs the standard report.

    Check below link for detail.
