Question about purchase order workflow

Hello, my users need the following: the Director of the company should receive an email in an approval step, he wont be approving, but he needs to be informed. Is it possible to receive an email notification when a step has been approved or when the step is triggered?
 
Any help would be very welcome, thanks!

    Hi,
     
    You probably want to send a notification to the workflow originator when a workflow is approved, so you cant send it with CC to the director.
    However, I would suggest to use a Business event (BE) in combination with Power automate to an email to the director when a workflow is approved. Instead of a BE you can also use a dataverse connection.
     
    So, you either need to use a dataverse connection (Virtual entities) or Business events (BE). BE is being created automatically when you have created a workflow. So, the idea that a BE is only being triggered when the workflow item is approved. I am not sure if you have all the necessary information in the following BE, but I would start here.
