We are carrying items in many brands, is there a field we can use for entering brands?

But we have been using the Category Code for :table, chair. bedding etc.

any other field can be used?

My recommendation would be to use the attributes for the brand / product family information in Business Central.

You also have a manufacturer code that can be used.

A little depending on the requirements the one field might have some advantages over the other. But they are both great choices.

For Branding, create new field in item card. I think it is better and simple.

Depending upon your need for Brand, you could also use a dimension. Do you need to pull reports, just see the Brand or something else?

yes, we need to run the report for brands, also the life status, such as : NEW, End Of Life, Promotion...

You should really look into using a combination of manufacturer and item attributes for this.

Hello,

I've seen some of the Excellent reverts here from the experts -

I would also like to add that It's be better if you use either Dimension Or Item Attribute Category rather than going for Custom Fields.

Since every time you design a report - you'll have to flow the same fields to those pages/tables - Referencing will not be easy.

Reporting aspect would be solved easily by Either Dimension or by Item Attribute.

Dimension (Shortcut) would be perfect fit for the same.
