Account > Activities > Related "Regarding" does not show Activities related to Leads

Hi everyone,

A functional question on how we should expect CRM 2015 Online Update 0.1 to behave.

We have activities, of type Phone Calls and Appointments, tracked (Regarding set) to Leads and Opportunities (seperate activities for leads and opportunities obviously ;-) ).

These leads and opportunities are related to existing accounts using the appropriate look up link fields (ie our Leads all relate to existing accounts).

In the activities (ie phone calls and appointments) no assignment has been made to the account or a contact (on the account) in any fields (ie To / From for phone calls and Required / Optional for appointments).

In the Account window > Activities > all activities & Related "Regarding" Activites selected, the activities "attached" to an opportunity appear in the list of activities, but the activities attached to a lead do NOT appear in the list of activities.

Now I understand there is "some" code sitting behind the option 'Related "Regarding" Activites' that sifts through the different entity objects and retrieves activities that are indirectly associated with the account in question.

Some "googling" showed that in CRM 2011 this code only appeared to look at the entity objects of Contacts and Opportunities and orders that were associated with opportunities (survivingcrm.com/.../crm-2011-subgrids-aint-what-associated-views-used-to-be).

What I was wondering (1) whether this limited hierarchy roll-out is still as limited in 2015 (as it was in 2011) or whether we are doing something wrong, and (2) if it is the former has anyone ever put together a custom solution to include activities related to Leads.

Thanks,

Michael
