Minimal copy instance backup

Hi,

I want to perform a copy of our Prod instance to our lower environments but I have some concerns.

If I perform a minimal copy, will this remove existing lookup/GUID's records? I am concerned about some existing java script breaking as some code relies on these values.

Appriciate any help!

Hello Partner,

When you are performing a minimal copy, only the customizations get copied and no data gets copied. Your forms and fields and javascripts will be in place, but you will not have any records. Your lookup fields will be present on the form, but the lookup fields will not have values to select. Say you have an Account lookup on a form called field 1. After the minimal copy to a new environment, in the new environment, the form will still have the field 1 which would be a lookup to account entity, however the account records would not have been copied and hence you will not be able to select a value for this drop-down unless you create one. Your PROD org will remain intact though. if you wish to have the lookup values to be present, you would have to do a full copy, and if required delete the data records you do not wish to be present.
