Hi there,

Is there a way to deliver a single sales order on multiple dates?
let say there's a sales order of a Chair having quantity 10. I want these 10 to be delivered on multiple dates.

    Hi Lucas

    You have a few options

    1) Maybe try "Inventory - Sales Back Orders" or "Back Order Fill by Customer" report and put the shipment date in the future.

    2) Go to item card then under inventory and QTY on SO then see those orders.

    3) Publish Page 516 (Sales Line) as ODATA and then use Excel to create such a report  archerpoint.com/.../

    4) If you are on SaaS use follow Free app. For on-prem contact them and see if they can help.

    Hey MahGah

let say I have created one SO with multiple lines of same item but different QTY/Shipment date. On which report in business central would I be able to see my shipments along with their respective shipment dates. ?

    Hi,

As I said before, you have to put all your quantity on "Qty. to Ship" field and change the "Planned Shipment Date" field for all three lines.

    Hey Nitin Verma

Totally agree with what you've explained. But let me give you a scenario.

Let suppose there's a sales order having 3 lines having 500, 1000, 1500 quantity to ship respectively. I am looking for a way where I can plan this shipment on different dates in one go rather overwriting the entire time.

I agree Kim but felt it was worth throwing out as an option.

If date management is a bigger issue than inventory availability, blanket orders do have some advantages as you only enter the date when required.

If dates move continually, it can be an un-necessary admin overhead to repeatedly update an expected date on one or more lines.

I personally like MahGah's solution over a blanket order; mostly because a blanket is not seen as demand when running requisition or planning worksheet and it's not viewable on the Availability pages.

Adding to what others have said, if the delivery schedule is not known and the order is more like a call off, you can also use blanket sales orders.

    Hi

    Nitin provided an answer.

We have the same need and we create one SO with multiple lines of same item but different QTY/Shipment date. This way we can see the demand for each date and in addition we can measure our on-time delivery.

    Hi,

you can use Qty. to ship field to enter the partial quantity each time and change the shipment date as well in the sales order and post a sales shipment it will allow you to post that order in multiple times
