Is there a straightforward way of mapping the xml pane to the actual fields in BC. Been using trial and error and it just seems there surely is a logical way to relate the field name in BC to the report layout customisation.

Hi, as in RDLC, this can only be viewed from VS Code. For example, in the VendLoop dataitem below, the value on the left of the column is displayed in the layout file, and the value on the right is the logical value (such as a formula, variable, or field in a table)

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
