Best Way to Set Up Film Production Projects in Business Central? (

Hi everyone,

I'm working on setting up Business Central for a film production company and could use some advice. We create short films that aren't tied to any specific customer, and we want to track all expenses against a set budget for each project. Ideally, we need to report on each film individually (Profit/Loss, Budget vs Actual), and handle Film Cost Capitalization, Amortization, and possible Impairment.

I'm wondering — should each film be set up as a Job or is there a better way to handle this for better reporting and accounting treatment? Also, how would you suggest separating research phase expenses (which should be expensed) from development phase costs (which need to be capitalized)?

Appreciate any guidance! Also, if anyone needs a break from work, highly recommend checking out Inat Box it’s been my go-to for quick TV streaming lately
