Account centric integration folder paths

As far as I understood the idea behind Account centric integration is that users should be able to see documents from related entites on the level of Account Documents Grid View. While integration it turned out that the path created eg while we create folder for Case:

/Account/Account.Name/incident/incident[title]_incident[id] will not map to the account folder (CRM doesn't recognize folder Account.Name).

When I enter Account Documents Grid View CRM will prompt me to create a new folder and it will create it like /Account/Account.Name_Account.Id.

What is the point of account centric integration then? It basically doubles folders for account. What is worse, it creates danger of having mess in SP folders if we create folders for cases that regard two different accounts with the same name.

RE: Account centric integration folder paths

PowerObjects did a very good blog post about folder structures in the Sharepoint integration, see the below link:

    www.powerobjects.com/.../get-a-better-understanding-of-the-sharepoint-online-integration-with-dynamics-crm-online

The point of account and contact centric is that case and opportunity records will be put into a sub folder for the account or contact specified in the "customer" lookup field. If you have two accounts with the same name it will still differentiate them by the account id, and of course the same for contacts.

If you have existing folders for customers then you would have to match those folders manually. Dynamics does not try to do an automatic smart match on folders in SharePoint. To do that you should check out the following guide:

RE: Account centric integration folder paths

    Hi Marius,

    Thanks for your reply.

What I mean is the folder structure created by out of the box entity. I understand the idea behind structuring the folders in this way. The thing is it is not working :). Or I am doing something wrong.

First I created a case that has a lookup to my Test account. It created the first folder for the account on the screeshot. This folder is not recognized by CRM. So when I go to the Account it prompts me to create a new folder containing ID of the account in the name of it.

RE: Account centric integration folder paths

I am experiencing the same issue as described above.  I have chosen Account centric and if I attach a document to an incident associated with an Account, the folder hierarchy is created Accounts--->Account Name(No Guid)-->Incident-->IncidentID.  If I go to the Account record and "View Associated Documents" the document associated with the incident is not there and a new folder is created in my Sharepoint site (Account Name With Guid).  Ampska, were you able to resolve this issue?
