a minimum number of chargeable hours in a service order

Hi

My client has the following case in service management, on service orders they have a minimum charge of 1 hour.  They get the hours from employees timesheets that they enter directly in Business Central

So employee Mary worked on service order S0001 for 0.5 hour and that what should be entered in her timesheet as the timesheets gets uploaded to payroll and also to make sure they have the correct resource using reporting.   but for the service invoice generated from the service order, it should charge 1 hour not 0.5 hour.

I tried updating the 0.5 to 1 on the invoice after importing the timesheet lines on the service order, but it doesn't let me do that.  which makes sense as its coming from the timesheet

I was wondering if there is an option or a workaround that can be used in that scenario

Thanks

Ola

Yes I do. If it's not achievable with prices then you need a new logic to upscale the qty. to invoice and ship.

    Hi JAngle,

Yes, they don't charge fractions of an hour, they always charge an hour. so if the employee work  0..25 of an hour , or 0.5 or any fraction, still has to be charged as an hour.

so, in that case, you think that the only solution is a customization.  correct?

Is that the company only charges for full hours or do they double the charge for time spent? If it's the latter the workaround would be to double the unit price of the resource. If it is the former then you will need a modification as there is no pricing logic to cater for this and discounting has to be a positive number.

You might take a different given you're in the detail with this link: docs.microsoft.com/.../service-how-setup-service-costs-pricing
