Data storage

Our CRM data storage has exploded.

Have been testing importing Accounts, Contacts, Activities and have done multiple imports of the data, bulk deleting after each run.

Each run also has a couple of workflows that execute on each record,to set Primary Contact and other fields

Got message three days ago saying our data cap was exceeded at 25GB (5GB limit) so ran job to bulk delete completed system  jobs.

That was three days ago, job is still running, deleted 56,000 at last count, but just got message saying data storage is now 146GB!

What is happening, how do I clear the data?

Please check if the PluginTrace is off and if Audit is off.

If those are off then the culprit is AsyncOperationBase table. You need yo clear the AsyncOperation table since your workflow will be writing logs back.

These log get clears periodically by CRM but since you are already exceeding DB, you can call premier and they can clear it off for you .

    Thanks.

You can setup Organization Insights if you're on Dynamics 365.

You'll easily know what is consuming more data. You'll need to be a O365 Administrator to be able to set it up from Office 365.

You can refer the below blog to check what all take up space in CRM.

    Hi Stuart,

I would highly recommend to clear the asynchronous base table

Also Enable the Organisation insight  so that you can view who is the culprit.

You can try some of the methods in Leon's recent blog post -> thatcrmblog.wordpress.com/.../analyzing-and-clearing-space-in-dynamics-365-dynamics-crm-online
