Unable to view Word Templates in Dynamics 365 online

I have created system word templates for quote entity. Me being an admin can see them and run them for the records. I want users from another BU with particular security roles to view and run them but am unable to do so. I have modified the security role for the users for the particular BU and given them the necessary access. But still they are unable to view them under word templates. Also, when I try to give access via the enable security roles option in the word templates section, I only find roles for my BU and not the BU I want hence unable to give them access this way. What can be done? Thanks in advance.

Hi Ameya,

Could you please copy same security role and create another security role in root business unit and share those user . Seems this is happening because your security role defined in child business unit level. And make sure all the privileges is there related to document template.

Hi Ameya,

Could you please confirm if you have created the personal template or system template. If personal template then it won't be visible to other unkess you convert it to system

My question is can we change the BU for the roles as seen above? When I am providing access to the roles, it only shows for one particular BU that is the topmost BU. Do we have an option to provide it only for a sub-BU?

Hi Ameya,

The security are cascade down to child BU's i.e. if you create a security role, it will be available on child BU's as well. While giving the permissions to a specifc security role, it will be applied to all the seurity role for all the BU's.

If you are looking to provide access to specific business unit's security role then I am afraid the anser is No :(
