If you won't be using GitHub for source control and builds, so where will you get the artifacts to deploy?

Thanks for your link , and it is very valuable but I cannot know the order of the articles or the scenario to implement. my case I do not need the configure the GitHub as a source control only but how also to automate the process to move the customizations between different environments. I would appreciate if you can provide me the steps for real complete scenario from A to Z.
