    Hi Sir,

    I have tried the ff:

    open regedit, navigate to :HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSCRM

Right Click and click on NewString value as "PreferredDc"

Add the value to PreferredDc is YourDomainControllerName

We can find this in AD by typing the command in command prompt echo %logonserver%

    but still encounter same error.

Is there any possible solution? Thank you in advance.

Did you try restarting the server after changing the registry?

Also, how did you enter your domain name? Was it the NETBIOS name format or the domain.ext format?

It seems like most of the information on the web is related to Active Directory issues that are not allowing the load of your snap-in, and the error is Unable to obtain DNS hostname of Active Directory domain controller...

The error that is showing from your error is as follows:

    Exception Type: System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException

Exception Message: Type is not resolved for member 'Microsoft.Crm.Crm.CrmException,Microsoft.Crm.Core, Version=7.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=...

I have not personally encountered this, but maybe someone else has and can assist you with this.

If you don't get any response, I suggest you possibly open a ticket with Microsoft (if you have a support agreement).

    Hope this helps.

Is there any other config that I need to check or reconfigure before running/accessing the CRM deployment manager?

    Example:

    1. IIS - Do i need to change first the hostname since the specified hostname is still the hostname of the previous server

What did you do to solve your issue?

    Hi,

I am not yet still resolved the issue but upon trying to create new server, it seems the problem is on the database instance.

Just make sure there's a few or much better only the CRM database is stored in one Database instance. MMC may pop up if it will recognize some other database activity wherein your CRM database was stored. Please give feedback once resolved. Thank you.
