If you mean the Date Filter below, as far as I know this cannot be changed, it is automatically calculated based on Today's date.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Hi,

If you change your system date to one year before instead of today than it might help

Maybe this will help clarify your issue.

The G/L Budget page automatically defaults the date filter to the current fiscal year, and any manual changes (like setting it to the previous year) are not saved by default.

    Here's what you can do:

To make your previous year's date filter stick, you need to save a view:

    • Set the date filter to the previous year (e.g., 01/01/2024..31/12/2024).
    • Click "Bookmark this View" or use “Save as View” (top of the page).
    • Give it a name like “2024 Budget View” and save it.

Now, you can access this saved view anytime with the correct filter applied by default.

    Hello,

In Business Central, the G/L Budget date filter defaults to the current year because it uses the system’s Work Date or fiscal year setup as the basis for the filter. When you change the date filter to a previous year manually, it resets to the current year upon refreshing or reopening because the system does not save the filter permanently.

To make the previous year the default when creating or editing a G/L budget, you can change the Work Date to a date within that previous year before opening the budget page—this causes the system to use that year as the default filter.

Alternatively, you can save a personalized view with the previous year’s date filter applied and select this view each time you work with budgets to retain the filter settings. Combining these approaches ensures the previous year stays as the default filter when working with G/L budgets.

Hope this answer will resolve your query!

    Regards,
    Mansi Soni
