Mobile CRM / Mobile xRM

Hi all,

I am trying to get an idea of the interest in the market (customers and partners) regarding Mobile CRM / Mobile XRM.

Can you share with me your thoughts regarding the following:

1. Do you get the question for mobile CRM (either during sales cycles/implementations or from the users)?

2. Do you propose the possibility to go mobile with CRM (either via Mobile Express, or 3rd party solutions)?
    If not, why not?

3. Do you think online solutions work well enough in your area? Is there a need for offline capabilities?

4. Do you think the mobile application should be as flexible as CRM? Or do you think specific solutions for specific verticals work better? Do you believe in Mobile xRM being a platform to develop mobile line-of-business solutions?

5. Do you see benefits in integrating the capabilities of a mobile device into the mobile CRM solution?

6. What should be a reasonable price point, not only looking a product price/monthly cost, but also looking at ROI.

I would like to see where we as a company need to focus on, and how we can help raise the awareness and benefits of using Mobile CRM solutions.

Thanks for your feedback!

Kind regards,

Erik van Hoof

    Hi Erik,

To me CRM is only as successful as its mobile features. Especially when your mobile users are field technicians and generally non-office type of workers. As one of my friends and an experienced manager put it - the human factor is the biggest risk in those cases. Your mobile people don't want to be considered as mobile secretaries.

Unfortunately Dynamics has very little to offer out of the box in terms of handhelds, etc. data input capabilities. The newly released CRM Mobile Express is well below expectations unless seriously customized. This of course is good for companies like yours and I definately think you are on the right track. It's a shame that for such expensive User Licenses, MS don't offer comprehensive mobile options.

My team and I are responsible for selecting a CRM solution for the biggest water utility company in Bulgaria and we need to empower 50 mobile field technicians (as a start). Although we are quite happy with the desktop and laptop interfaces of our CRM 4.0 pilot installation, we still haven't found a good mobile option that can be deployed quickly. All of our interfaces are in Bulgarian (the local CRM language version was recently released by Microsoft), we have a complex workflow which is more than the typical sales/leads/opportunities model and it appears we will be left with the ultra portable laptop option only.

What I need is a company that can quickly (by Aug, 2009) build pages, interfaces for Windows Mobile or Blackberry to match our customized CRM, to provide alerts, notifications for new tasks and easy input. In our case online EDGE/3G/HSDPA connectivity is available in Sofia, so offline is not a big issue. Yes - and all that in Bulgarian.

And I think there will be many more companies with similar needs. I think that Mobility for CRM has yet a long way to go and the market is there.

    All the best,

    Ivailo Chipev

    Hi,

Did you developed in custom mobile solution for MS CRM that run on IPhone, BlackBerry? Have you tried to run the dialog process on a mobile phone?

    Thanks.
