Management Reporter Library not updating

Hi!

We have been using MR CU 9for a long time without any issues.  We recently installed the GP 2013 Year-End Update and now when we run our MR Reports, for some reason they are not updating the Library.  Also, after the report prints to the screen, we cannot open the report in Excel or the MR Report Viewer as we receive the following error:  The requested object no longer exists.  It was most likely deleted by another user.

Everyone using MR is receiving the same error regardless of the MR report we run.  Here is what the SQL Event Viewer shows as the error:

System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.

Parameter name: fileOrServerOrConnection

at System.Data.Linq.DataContext..ctor(String fileOrServerOrConnection, MappingSource mapping)

at Microsoft.Dynamics.Performance.Reporting.Security.SecurityAccess.GetDataContext()

at Microsoft.Dynamics.Performance.Reporting.Security.SecurityAccess.GetPrincipal(String securityIdentifier)

at Microsoft.Dynamics.Performance.Reporting.Security.Service.SecureServiceBase.SecureExecuteInternal[TResult](Func`1 hasPermission, Func`1 executor)

at Microsoft.Dynamics.Performance.Reporting.Common.Service.ServiceBase.BaseExecute[TResult](Func`1 executor)

Component: Microsoft.Dynamics.Performance.Reporting.DataAccess.Server.FontStyleService

User: ESTENSON\kstadick

Any ideas as to why all of the sudden things would change?

Thank you!

Karl

    Hi!

We figured it out.  Somehow our Report Library Permissions for all users was deleted.  If you log into MR and then go to Tools > Report Library Permissions, it appeared that certain reports "lost" the User Rights that were assigned to them.  All, the main "Library" option at the top had no one assigned to it.  To correct this for now, I simply clicked on the "Library" icon and granted Everyone access to it and this appears to have worked.  Please be sure to unmark access to various reports if certain users should not see them.

    Thank you!

Well, I might have spoken too quickly.  :)

Some reports are working but most are not.  Reports are also still not working for all users.

    Open to any ideas.

    Thank you!

    Hi!

I did figure out how to work around the issue.  In MR, I went to Tools > Options and marked the check box that states "Use Management Reporter Report Viewer as default viewer" and that has seemed to work for now.  It wasn't marked before and so I don't know for sure what happened but we are able to generate and export our reports to Excel without any issues.

FYI:  We are using the Legacy connection and not the Data Mart.

Thank you to all who responded.

    Have a great New Year!
