Query Storage Space Consumed by a CRM Instance using SDK or PowerShell

Is it possible to query CRM Online using the CRM SDK or PowerShell, or to query Office 365 using Powershell,  to retrieve data on how much space is currently being consumed by a CRM instance within an Office 365 Tenancy?

If there are multiple CRM instances in an Office 365 tenancy the storage space is shared among each instance. I am currently researching how to query CRM and find out how much space an instance is consuming. While this information is available on the Resources in Use page I am interested in developing custom software to retrieve this information and issue custom alerts/notifications. CRM does notify customers at 80% threshold but this threshold is not configurable.
