CRM 4.0 : Difference between Domain User Account and Network Service Account

Hi, My problem is, when i installed CRM 4.0, i chose the option of Domain user account and specified my credentials and installed CRM 4.0 - i got a warning said ""Verify Domain User account SPN for the Microsoft Dynamics CRM ASP.NET Application Pool account." ". I ignored it and continued installation - installation was successful and when i tried opening CRM by http://myservername:5555 - it gives me an error saying " Caller does not have enough privilege to set the CallerOriginToken to the specified value.

So i did added the administrator to the PrivUser group and proceded, got the same error repeatedly. I have done it before successfully by choosing the option of NETWORK SERVICE ACCOUNT, so just wanted to understand the difference between the DOmain user account and the Network Service Account.

Also, in my case, I have the CRM Server as a part of the domain and installed using the same. The idea is i wanted the CRM server should be accessible throughout the domain.

Could someone shed some light on this and suggest the best possible way for me to get it worked.. Thanks in Advance..

Cheers,

Edwin

    Hi Edwin,

There are many ways to configure dynamics crm.  For a small implementation with a single server and single domain, I would recommend staying with running crm (the web site) under the network service account.  If things are messed up, possible the fastest way to fix it is to re-install.  Remember to also install the latest update rollup.
