Contact Sync from CRM 2016 to Exchange 2010

Hey,

currently i am facing the following issue:

If i create an contact in CRM with an E-Mail Address and save the record, the contact is getting synced to Outlook without any issues.

As soon as i remove the Contact E-Mail Address in CRM the contact is not getting synced anymore to outlook. When stuck, i can change all details of the contact in CRM and non of those changes will be synced to outlook.

In order to start the sync again i have to enter a new e-mail address for the contact in CRM.

Does anybody have an idea if this is standard behaviour of CRM / Exchange?

Fun-Fact: If i create an contact without an e-mail at the start this contact is getting synced without any issues.

Used Environment:

CRM 2016 onPrem

Exchange 2010 onPrem
