Sales Price list import in new price experience

I have just started my company in BC and imported all my items, customers and vendors. The next natural step is to import sales and purchase prices. I have these from my old system in excel files different price lists for all 2500 items for 10 different important customers and all remaining customers have a standard price list with discount in some percentage. I am trying to import these different price lists but I can’t figure out where and how to do it. I have activated the new price experience.

please point me in the right direction or tell me if I have misunderstood the functionality.

Sales Price list import in new price experience
When using RapidStart as a tool to data migrate the New Sales Price lines, the configuration package will need not only a unique line no. per, but also a unique field order to validate in. An Example is illustrated.

    Hello Robin,

Were you able to figure this out? I'm facing the same issue.

The line no should be unique for each line, just start with 10000, 20000,30000....... and so on

Hmm I don’t think I follow. My problem is that I don’t know that line no to put on each new line in the excel file. When using “suggest line” it generates a bunch of random line numbers. When exporting this, editing it and importing it again it works, but I get all my 2500 items in the price list this way. I only want 500 of them.

For this import, there are two tables one is the header for a sales price list and you need to use that code, and line no. on the line table.  The primary key for the header is the code and for the line it is code, and line no.

I tried assigning a line number of my choosing in the excel file with only the items I want to upload but they won’t import. When populating the empty price list in BC automatically with “suggest lines” feature the line numbers generated seem very random. Can I really choose whatever line No I want in the exported excel file?

    Robin,

I am sorry but I am not following when you import line items you need to i.e into table 7001 you need to assign line no. for each line.

Thanks for your answer. I managed to import prices. However I am a bit confused. Because when I create I new price list it is ofcourse empty. I can then manually add an item and set the price and then export the excel file using rapidstart package. Then I get an excel file with that one line. That item then has a line number assigned to it in the exel file. When trying to add more lines to the excel file to be able to upload them into rapid start again it doesn't work.

However If I press "suggest lines" in the price list and choose "item" it populates the pricelist with all my 2500 items. with all prices set to zero. I can then export it, paste my prices and upload it again, and it works. however I only want say, 500 of those 2500 items in this price list. How do I do that? Or do I always have to populate all price list with all 2500 items? It feels overkill.

You can use RapidStart Packages to export and then use that template to upload your prices.  The new price list uses Price List Header 7000 and Price List Line 7001 tables.
