When I am in a quote, order or invoice I need to edit the information on the pdf document or have more information from the document carry form here to the pdf. I know I can create the document in word, make the changes & then print to pdf, but that is a work-around.

Unfortunately, there is no OOB way to skip word template.

Hello DL-08061426-0,

As of now, MS do not allow to update the PDF. The available option is to make the Word Document (Template) and using the functionality of Export to PDF, the quote/order/invoice can be generated.

You can use PDF editor as separate application that will allow you to modify the content.
