ribbon customization translation will not import

I have exported translations and have found this to work well with one exception; any RibbonCustomization records will not import back into the system once modified.  I am able to modify any other records but not these.  I have seen several posts specifying that the workaround is to remove these, but that seems silly as obviously they are supposed to work.

Does anyone know a REAL fix for this problem?

Try using this xrmtoolbox addon :

    Hello,

I'd been experiencing this issue in several Dynamics CRM 2016 deployments (8.2.1 and RTM as well) and I had been able to successfully upload the button translations using the RibbonWorkbench.

When you define the button, in the upper corner of the Properties window, you should see a "LANGUAGE" dropdown. If you change it, you can introduce the labels related to that language. Then simply save and publish and voilà, now you have your ribbon buttons translations uploaded:

Let me know if this solves your issue.

    Regards

    Nick.

    Hi John,

    proceed as follows:

    1) Create new solutions name "Entity name ribbon translation"

    2) Add the entity to the solutions with only metadata

    3) Export the solution

    4) Unzip the solution

    5) In customizations.xml files search for all labels you are not able to translate

    6) Translated the labels directly in xml code

    7) Save customizions.xml file

    8) Zip all files

    9) Reupload the zipped file

    10) Publish

    Please, let us know.
