Security setting for exporting to excel

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

Greetings Everyone.

Is there away to set the Security Role settings for a User where they can only export to Excel for their Accounts

I know I can do this from a View and set the Criteria to Owner equals Current User.

ie We have an view that shows all the accounts but when I user clicks on Export to Excel it will only print their accounts.

The views would be Goble and not for Personal Views where you can share them

Any advice or help would be great.

No. It is an on or off setting.

If a user can read data in CRM, then they can export that same data if you give them the "Export to Excel" privilege.

So they can export Accounts (any they can see, not just their own), Contacts, etc.

    No Damon,

There is no OOB Setting for specific entity for the export excel.

    Thanks.

There is no such setting where you can allow access for export to excel for specific entities. Either its a yes or a no on the privilege.

No, there is no such option available in crm which can only export particular entities.

U Can either Enable it or Disable it in SR.

Enabling it will allows to export in all entities.

Disabling won't allows u to export.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Fathima

    Hi,

As all above post mentioned there is not any security setting for this requirement.

But you can achieve this by using report and ribbon customization.

You can create report, which will show only records owned by user and user can easily export accounts / records from report to excel/pdf/word etc.

And you can hide export to excel button from account ribbon by using security role or by doing ribbon customization,

then create custom button which will call custom report, in this report you can show only records owned by user,  and export report into excel format.

For this approach you need to write some code.. but it will work.

    Hope this will help..
