RMA Reason Codes

We are using the reason codes when creating returns.  I have created a smartlist for our CSR's to pull up all returns and I would like to have the reason code on the smartlist but I can not seem to find what table it pulls from.  Can someone help me please?

Thank you,

The table is SVC05000 and the field is SVC_RMA_Reason_Code.  There is also the SVC_RMA_Reason_Code_Description field

You did not mention, you may need to use SmartList Builder to include these fields

I am having trouble finding those fields or the table.  Do you happen to know the display name?

Katie, are you creating Returns in the Returns Management module or in the Sales Order Processing module?

I am using the Sales order processing module.

    Thank you,

OOOOOH!!!!  RMA Reason code Yell Field Service to me.  Sorry!

Out of the box GP SOP does NOT have reason codes.  Do you perhaps have an Extender Window for these?  Or are you using one of the User Defined fields to pick from a list (and re-label it Reason Code)?

Or a third party product?  Or modified code?

Maybe I am using RMA??? I am not sure but I do have the option for a reason code.

When I am in Sales transaction I can go to additional < create return < and when I fill that out it gives me the options to put in reason codes.

    Hi Richard,

I see that the SVC table is in the Field Service Series which I do not show when I am creating a smartlist out of smartlist builder........would you happen to know why?

    Thank you,

    Katie

Hi all.  I have the same situation here. I did some research on it and cannot find a solution.

First things first: When you create a Return via the menu command in the SOP Entry window, you are using RMA functionality that is being leveraged from the Field Service module.  However, this functionality is not being used completely (unless you really use the FS module - more on this later).  My research (until proven wrong here) points to the fact that the reason code entered is not being stored anywhere is the system, as incredible as it may seem.  I ran a SQL trace during the creation of the return and the SVC05502 table is summoned only for the Return Code selection process, but nothing else, as it is a master table.  The SVC05000 is simply not used at all so the return is not really "recorded" in the Field Service module.

The customer I was testing this for does not have the Extended Pack in GP2013. You need extended pack to be able to use Field Service.  I then tested this on a demo environment with the Extended Pack and the behavior of the "Create Return" window opened from SOP is very telling: By default, the "RMA Type" field is enabled and "Create RMA" checkbox is checked.  If you uncheck the "Create RMA" checkbox the system will disable BOTH the "RMA Type" and the "Reason Code" Field. To me, this means that the intention is that if you do not create an RMA in field service (which I don't want to) then you cannot use the Reason codes.  For some reason the development team left the Reason Code field enabled when not registered for Field Service.

If anyone has another idea, I welcome it.  In the meantime, I am going to "force" the issue by taking the selected Reason code and populating one of the sales user defined fields via some programming.

    Regards,

    Thomas.

    Hi Katie,

Have you ever received an answer on how to do a SmartList Builder to get reason codes? We are having the same issue. Thanks.
