Custom Quotes ID

Is it possible to change the quote ID format, as the auto-generated quote ID in the CRM is somehow complicated...

This is a sample how the CRM generates the quotes ID: QUO-01013-H4F1K8

Can this number "01013" starts from "00001" or "1"?

This suffix "H4F1K8" can't be removed? plus does these letters have meaning?

I wish there is a way to make the quote ID to appear to something like this "QUO-00001", the next one is "QUO-00002".

    Hello Shahd;

    Guido is definitely right as you can use another field to achieve what your looking for.  It's important to understand what's customization out of the box. This article talks about what you can do for the auto generated out of the box quote id:

    www.microsoft.com/.../change-auto-numbering-prefixes-for-contracts-cases-articles-quotes-orders-invoices-campaigns-categories-and-knowledge-articles.aspx . Worth a read to understand it for sure.
