Changing FA Subclass

Hi,

Using Dynamics NAV 2017.

We captured (purchases and depreciation against the asset already) a fixed asset but the FA subclass is not correct.

It seems to me that NAV will let me just change the FA subclass.  I would have thought it would have had a pulled through GL entries so that the purchase (as an example) is moved to the correct GL account for the newly selected FA subclass.

E.g.  Asset 01 set up and acquired under asset subclass CARS (acquisition debited GL CARS).   When the Asset 01 subclass is changed to BOATS then there is no transfer of the acquisition cost to GL BOATS.

    This is just how it is designed. If you want to move the booked values when you move the FA to another subclass you will have to do those postings manually.

    Hi, Inge is right. It is as if you have modified the customer name, posting group, etc. of the customer master data, but this will not affect the posted data, only the new posting will use the new data.
