Hi,
I am noticing issues importing budgets using excel when the client has excel 2007 on their workstation. What happens is the budget import when you select which file, it prompts you first with "do you want to save your changes to budget xyz.xls?". This happens even when excel is closed on the machine I am working on. If I say yes or no, either response then prompts me with "are you sure you want to exit the excel import wizard?". Of course I say no, then I am able to select which worksheet my budget is on, as normal, and click Finish.
Next after clicking Finish, it asks me "budget xyz.xls is already open, reopening it may cause issues" (something along those lines). I say Yes, (as in, yes, re-open the spreadsheet) and finally it imports.
Then when I'm done, excel is not open but the excel.exe process is running in task manager and the budget file I imported from is locked, it thinks the file is still open, until I kill the excel process manually.
Second and related issue, if I have other excel workbooks open when I import, when it is done importing, excel is hidden, ALL of the workbooks are locked as already open and non-recoverable. I re-open Excel and those workbooks do not come up for recovery.
It seems isolated to Excel 2007. Nothing on partnersource about it. Don't want to waste a support case on it, in case they decide it's not a bug!
Anyone else with the same or a workaround to this?
