Workflow: Is there a otb-functionality which can ensure that a wf can be started only 1 x per record

Hi all,


is it possible to check if a wf is already running for a record?

and if so, can i choose if the running needs to be stopped and the new one runs from the start?

I thought this could be possible with local values / process / number of activities  ... or .. " incl. process.
But i do not really understand, for which kind of things these 2 things could be used.

    Hi PeB,

    I don't think you could do this with the built in options, but you could add a field as a workaround.

    If you want the workflow to only run one at a time, but it can run multiple different times, add something like: "Is My Workflow Running".

    In your workflow, check to see if that's Yes or no.

    If Yes, don't do anything.

    If No, update it to Yes and continue with your process. After you're done processing, set that back to No.

    If you want the workflow to only run once ever, same thing except just set it to Yes and leave it.
