Page Mode by Default

When we open a card like "G/L Account Card" (17) from "Chart of Accounts" (16, List), using de No. field, the page 17 opens using edit mode, AND WE NEED CHANGE THIS FOR VIEW mode, by default.
On the other hand when we open a list page like "FA Posting Groups" (5613) its opens using edit mode, and the same problem, we need change this for VIEW mode, by default.

Just to clarify, this is at a general level, regardless of the user, even if they have edit permissions, we need the pages to open in view mode by default and that the edit button remains enabled.

I propose a new property like "ModeDefault" on objects, which can be changed with extensions.
This property would apply whenever the page is called except from an edit button.

Or another option is to be able to apply by configuration how the pages are opened by default.

Regards

If Microsoft allowed page extensions to manipulate the ModifyAllowed property, then you'd have  a way to do what you want.  If the ModifyAllowed property is set to false on a list page, the corresponding card page opens in View mode by default.

I've seen it before and it doesn't fix the problem, quite the opposite.

    But thank you very much.

Hello  - We currently do not have dedicated Dev support via the Dynamics 365 Business Central forums, but I wanted to provide you some additional resources to assist.  If you need assistance with debugging or coding I would recommend discussing this on one of our communities.

I will open this up to the community in case they have something to add.
