Mass Update of Contact Record

Is is possible to update multiple CRM Contact records through a CSV file?  I have many contacts that do not have a common thread, other than a spreadsheet that shows who the owner should be changed to.  I unfortunately have no way to do an Advanced Find on these records to Export and then Re-import after editing in excel.

I have a spreadsheet with email address and correct owner's name (needs to be updated in CRM).  Any guidance?

    Hi Devin,

I don't think there is any built in functionality that will help you achieve this if you cannot find the records to be edited using Advanced Find. I think you'll need to build a custom tool to parse your CSV file, query CRM to find a matching Contact record representing each row in your CSV file based on the email address and then reassign the record as required.

What fields do you have on your CSV that can related to the contact fields on CRM? do you have anything like a Client ID? or a combo of fields that would create a unique combination?

    Hi Devin,

If you cannot do using Advanced Find, there is another only way, I think you need to combine your excel skills such as Filtering and VLookup by owner and replace to which owner by doing a lookup to another record.

May I know what is your category that you cannot achieve using Adv Find?

If possible you can download existing contact records from CRM and can do vlookup in excel to merger your updated column values into downloaded templates and re-import that file.

Yes, I actually ended up doing that.  It was a success. :)
