Sales Order Agent Item Availability Error: Solution?

In a sandbox environment that is not the latest version of BC, I have set up the Sales Order Agent to monitor an Outlook Email inbox. When I send a quote or order email to test its response, the agent concludes that the item is not available, due to not being available for quoting or not being available in that quantity, or not being available by the date the order/quote request email was sent. It always does this, and when I've checked the item availability page, most times the item is available far beyond the quantity requested. Suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? At this time, I'm not able to update to the latest version of BC.

    Hello,

Old Sales Order Agent versions often mis-read availability.
    Most common causes:

    It checks the wrong location

Missing SKUs (SKU = 0, so SOA says unavailable)

Variants not included in the email

Lead time/safety stock makes SOA think the request date can’t be met

Known bugs in older SOA builds

If you can’t update BC, simplify setup → use one location, ensure SKUs exist, and remove lead-time rules for testing.

    Regards,

The Sales Agent may have issues finding the item or availability based on what you describe. I've noticed the errors can be vague.

First I would look at the Item/Product settings: Sales Order Agent overview (preview) - Business Central | Microsoft Learn
Validate that it can find a No., Description or Vendor Item No. in BC.

Next make sure your order promising is configured correctly. BC uses capable-to-promise for sales demand: Sales Order Agent overview (preview) - Business Central | Microsoft Learn

You may need to setup your Order Promising settings and some other inventory settings as well (SKUs for your main location and replenishment settings).

Please ensure you meet the following two conditions:
    1. Although the Sales Order Agent can be seen in the W1 and other environments, there are still issues.
    2. Please use a working Microsoft 365 email address.

    Thanks
    ZHU
