When I key in the U of M for an item code in the Purchase Order Entry, it pop out the error "This unit of measure does not exist for this item." I've check the Item Maintenance and and Item Vendor Maintenance both also got the U of M - UNIT. What is the problem?

Thanks.

Aaron is spot on with his reply. Somehow you have a U/M that has not been assigned to this item. Is the U/M schedule assigned to this item assigned to other items? Is your U/M of UNIT valid not only for this item but for all other items sharing this U/M schedule? If it only applies to this item you may want to create a new U/M Schedule and apply it to this item.

Ian is correct here.  The UofM Schedule ID that is assgined to the item DOES NOT CONTAIN the UofM you are trying to add to the line item on the Purchase Order.  Another way to verify this is to do a query against the IV00106 table for that item. If the UofM you are trying to use isn't returned for that item, then the UofM truely does not exist.

To resolve, you need to add the UofM you are trying to use to the UofM Schedule that is assigned to the item. Once you do that, your error will go away.

If you look at the item (Cards >> Inventory >> Item) what Unit of Measure Schedule do you see?

If you go to the Unit of Measure Schedule screen (Microsoft Dynamics GP menu >> Tools >> Setup >>  Unit of Measure Schedule) what Unit of Measures does it contain?

OK, then add UNIT as a valid purchase unit of measure. You can just type it in there and click save.

Inside the U of M lookup is blank.

If you check the purchasing unit of measure for this item, do you see UNIT as a potential U/M?

If you do a lookup on UofM on the PO Entry form what options do you have?
