will changing a member server to workgroup break my GP server?

Hello-

I have Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials and a guest VM in Hyper-V also Windows Server 2012 R2 essentials. I set it up as a member server but now learned it won't work because Essentials can only be WORKGROUP or the domain controller. If I remove this virtual server from the domain and set it up as WORKGROUP will it break SQL Server or GP?

Thank You

Only if you have setup the GP Web client.. which relies on Domain security (AD)... Your SQL security might break if you set it up initially in mixed mode, since it will have used AD credentials from the domain to authenticate against it.. if you setup SQL Only, you should be fine. You can always change that back later..
