Master Data Management Setup - Permission Issue

I have 4 companies, one is the master and the other 3 I set up the Master Data Management Setup to pull from. I had no issues with the setup and turning on the sync. The only data that I am syncing between companies is Item Category Code and Dimensions.

My users are getting a permissions error (below) when attempting to approve time and convert Firm Planned Production Orders to Released Production Orders (just 2 examples). My attempts at creating a specific permission set for this did not work, so I ended up turn off the sync and cancelling the job. Once done, no more errors. I believe the problem is that my users do not have access to all 4 companies (for good reason), but I still want to sync data between companies. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi, it is recommended that you give users access to other companies. If Microsoft doesn't modify the permissions of the standard code, partners and users can't do anything about it.

Or you may be able to solve the problem by creating a sync-only account specifically....
