How to add a button to a form?

Hello,

I'm giving my first steps into Microsoft Dynamics world, and I was trying to make a form of an entity but I need to add a button. I have been seeking and I couldn't found nothing related with.

Could anybody provide me support?

One way is to add buttons to the ribbon/command bar. Ribbon Workbench makes this process pretty painless.

Another option could be to use HTML/JavaScript web resources to display custom HTML button which executes some JavaScript to perform a task.

Here is some code that you could insert into your web resource if you choose to go that route rather than using Ribbon Workbench as Jason mentioned.

Hi Israel,

that code is totally unsupported and also a bad practice. A similar result (a button inside the form beside other fields) can be obtained using an HTML web resource instead altering an existing field.

Thanks, Guido. The article doesn't mention anything about being supported or not, and I thought I had mentioned that I wasn't sure whether the method was supported.

I'm glad there's a community of professionals here to steer me right when I've made an error.

Hi Guido , I have a similar requirements, I saw an exisiting code work in CRM 2011

but can replicate it on dynamics CRM 365.

function testbutton () { var testrow = document.getElementById("plx_committee_c"); AddButtonToRow(testrow, "Search Committees", 150, null); }

plx_committee is the attribute name.
